It’s award season and with that comes fancy gown and black-tie affairs for all the Hollywood big wigs. But our favorite part is watching the new young stars emerge from out of nowhere. This past Sunday at the Critics’ Choice Awards, an unlikely young person stole the spotlight after winning the award for Best Young Performer. Jacob Tremblay, 9, walked confidently up to the stage, climbing on top of a step stool to reach the microphone and started one of the most adorable acceptance speeches ever, thanking the critics, his cast, crew and producers, and lastly his adoring parents whom he “loves very much.” After a brief
pause, Tremblay looked down at the award as a shy smile crept across his face. “I know where I’m going to put this … .on the shelf next to my Millennium Falcon.”
