Do you have a plant at your desk? If not, you might want to consider adding one or two. It’s known that too much carbon dioxide is harmful for our planet, however, scientists from Harvard and Syracuse have now discovered that CO2 levels we considered harmless may actually be the opposite when in an indoor setting, like in an office. The higher levels can hurt our ability to think. In the study, participants worked in offices with different CO2 levels: low, moderate, and high. They found that the more CO2 that was in the office, the more high-order decision-making skills were affected. If you’re in charge, you may want to look into increasing the ventilation in the office to keep CO2 low. Otherwise, we suggest bringing in enough plants to start a small forest!
